It’s hard to believe that March is upon us-as we get busier the days seem to go faster! Though we don’t have as much seasonal diversity as people do in other parts of the country, we still have spring in Tampa (believe it or not).

Of course, this means we also have spring cleaning. Here, there are no mudrooms to clean or heavy winter clothes to pack away for the season, but it’s still a great time to reassess the status of your home and office & clean and organize for the spring and summer months. And as mentioned, planning ahead becomes more important the busier your life becomes!

I Dream of Clean created a great organization checklist as well as some great tips for preparing for the big clean:

Spring Cleaning: Preparation

  • Walk around your house and make a list of items that need to be repaired or that need maintenance. List phone numbers of servicemen or tools/products that you need to pick up at the hardware store beside each item.
  • Change Fire Alarm Battery.
  • Gather your cleaning supplies in one area and make sure you have everything you need.
  • Schedule a time on your calendar to get your spring cleaning completed.
  • Straighten up. Since I think of spring cleaning as a more involved than my every day cleaning, I like to start with a fairly picked up area. I know this isn’t always possible so just do what works for you.
  • Get 3 Boxes/Bags and label them:
  1. Yard Sale
  2. Give Away
  3. Throw Away
