Calendars are great and very helpful to maintain an organized life & prioritize your time, but the more places you are (between, office, home and any other extra curricular activities you have scheduled), you may find yourself with multiple calendars in a few different locations. Our tip of the week: Use One Calendar! Whether it’s the calendar on your phone or you’re into the good old fashioned daily planner, use one calendar to organize your day & stick to it. The benefit of using the Calendar on your phone is integration: for iPhones & Android phones, you have the ability to categorize your schedule for work, regular scheduling & those your home life requires:

  • Never forget what you’re shopping for: Never come home from work again & realize that you have nothing but peanut butter to eat! Set reminders on your calendar to go shopping on your way home, and before that create shopping lists & tie those lists to your calendar to remind you to check your lists…so you don’t buy that third jar of peanut butter!
  • Schedule time with your friends & family to dedicate time to spend with the people you care about. Even if it’s blocking out 30 minutes to call a friend you keep missing, scheduling dedicated time can strengthen relationships and improve the quality of your life.
  • Block out time for yourself: Whether it’s going to the gym, setting a reminder about a movie you want to watch or making time for meditation, time for yourself is important to balance out the responsibilities & obligations of your daily life.
  • Mark times on your calendar to handle those important organizational to-do’s: Maybe you’re carving out Sunday afternoon to handle your receipts & taxes, organizing your closet or getting out in the yard to take care of the weeds & lawn, setting time aside allows you to focus and dedicate your full attention to areas which will help to keep your home & life more peaceful. And peace of mind in a busy life is invaluable.
