Labor Day means the end of summer & the start of the fall season. The kids are back to school, and it’s finally time to breath a sigh of relief as the daily house calms down & you can finally attend to the cleaning & organizing your may have avoided during the summer months.

But before you get too comfortable, here are three things to set you right back on edge:

  1. Halloween
  2. Thanksgiving
  3. The Holiday Season

The time to shore up from the summer & prepare for the fall and winter holidays is September. To help get you ready, here are some helpful tips to get you focused:

  • Attack your kid’s clutter: there may be a build up of clutter from having your kids in house all summer, so games & toys can be shelved & put away, as well as any summer specific clothing.
  • Remove the bedding from all your bedrooms & wash all of it, from top to bottom.
  • Clean and organized kitchen cabinets, paying particular attention to baking supplies, pans and equipment.*
  • Clear kitchen counters of all appliances not used within the last week. Clear counters look cleaner–and provide more room for future holiday cooking.*
  • Organize your garage: put away & hang any gardening tools, set up peg boards & shelving for any tools. After all, September 12th is “National Clean Out Your Garage Day”!
  • Office: Take the opportunity to tackle your papers, turn over & clean the keyboard of your computer with a fine brush, and wipe the dust off your monitor with a computer safe or microfibre cloth.

Autmun in a lot of ways give you an opportunity clean not unlike that of spring cleaning, so take it as a chance to get ready & be prepared before the Holiday Season appraches!
